About The Wine

Zantho’s Trockenbeerenauslese (or TBA) is made from the Scheurebe (Sämling 88) grape. Details about this grape can be found here.

While this wine is now available in Ontario, quantities are extremely limited.

The grapes grow in Zantho vineyards around the villages of Andau and Jois which are characterized by dry, gritty and mineral soils. This Austrian region is called Seewinkel and has been known to rival the world’s best sweet wine appellations, including France’s Sauternes region and Hungary’s Tokay region.

Tasting Notes:

Zantho’s TBA shows a deep golden colour with yellow reflections. On the nose, it seduces with spicy aromas of quince and pineapple with hints of citrus. On the palate, the wine shows incredibly deep fruit backed up by vivid acidity. The wine has a long and honey-sweet finish.

This wine possesses everything you need to enjoy it now or cellar it for a very long time.

Food Pairing:

Enjoy this wine well chilled as a stand-alone dessert or with spicy cheeses.
