Villa Venti: Artisan Organic Wine From Emilia-Romagna
Villa Venti is an organic and biological wine growing and wine producing farm situated in a land of ancient traditions. Wine makers Mauro Giardini and Davide Castellucci are dedicated to keeping this 7 hectare property free part of their vision for a better world to come. It gives us great pride to carry their products in Ontario.
From Gambero Rosso: “They have achieved the status of a well-established operation. Their vision for the winery incorporated splendid vineyards and full respect for the necessary tempos of both grapevines and winemaking. The winery lies at 160 metres’ elevation and its Messinian-age soils are evolved from red clays and sandy yellow clays, varying tremendously even within single vineyard blocks.”
When you’re ‘in the neighbourhood’, you can book a visit them and even stay in their beautiful villa resort or you can simply stop in to learn more about their application of organic farming. They are part of the ‘slow wine’ and ‘slow food’ movement and after sampling their award-winning product, we took pause as well at the remarkable quality of their wine at such a reasonable price.

Emilia-Romagna is located in north-east Italy. It is home to famous car brands like Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati and Duacti, all a reflection of the fact that this is one of the most wealthy regions in Europe.
It is also a gastronomical hot-bed, giving us classic food items like lasagna, tortellini and delicious inputs like balsamic vinegar from Modena and Parmigiano-Reggiano, the cheese that we enjoy with almost everything.
Quality is always of the utmost importance to the people of this region and we see it in the wine of Villa Venti.
