About The Wine

Le Velette’s Lunato is produced from the grapes of the oldest vineyards. They are rich in energy but have a low yield. Lunato represents the best in terms of quality and local character that can be got from this soil.

Tasting Notes

The colour of Lunato is straw-yellow with gold tints. On the nose, it has floral flavours of acacia combined with lingering suggestions of ripe fruit, golden delicious apples and apricot. On the palate, it’s smooth and enveloping on the palate, warm and rich but with a fresh lively acidity in a perfect harmony of sensations. It is elegantly festive and is considered the Orvieto wine for special occasions.

Food Pairing

Lunato is recommended with first courses that can be delicate or rich, with vegetable dishes and is an excellent pairing with main courses of fish, especially if they are light and spicy.

About the Name

The inspiration for ‘Lunato’ was when the owners of Le Velette were enjoying a late-night meal by moonlight. At the time, the moon was brilliant and full, much like the wine.
