In an effort to find like-minded people devoted to exploring new wines and regions, myself and a few others have pushed ahead with a local chapter of the Ontario Wine Society. George Piccin, from London, will be the lead organizer of the group, with me taking a back seat, as I do not want to create the sense of conflict of interest with any new tasting group in London.
The newly formed London Ontario Chapter of the Ontario Wine Society (OWS) is a non-profit group of wine enthusiasts that provides opportunities for the discovery, appreciation and support of local and international wines. You must be over 19 years of age to join.
The initial meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at 7:30 in the Wine Room of the Aroma Mediterranean Restaurant, 1 – 717 Richmond St, in Downtown London. Aroma’s is centrally located with ample parking and bus access.
Meetings will be held once a month on a Tuesday evening with guest speakers, presentations and wine portfolios. These meetings will be both entertaining and educational.
Follow the link to the main Ontario Wine Society website, www.ontariowinesociety.com, where you can learn more about this Ontario-wide social organization and its various activities. Also posted on the website, will be the schedule for upcoming events in the London area.
